Limoncello


Ingredients

  • 10 ea lemons
  • 1 ea (750-ml) bottle vodka
  • 3½ cups water
  • 2½ cups sugar

Preparation

  1. Peel the lemons in long strips
  2. Place the lemon peels in a 2-quart mason jar
  3. Pour the vodka over the peels and attach lid
  4. Steep the lemon peels in the vodka for 4 days at room temperature
  5. Stir the water and sugar in a mason jar and nuke 2 or so minutes then shake till the sugar is disolved
  6. Pour the sugar syrup over the vodka mixture
  7. Cover and let stand at room temperature overnight, strain and discard the peels
